A Baby Tasmanian Devil Fell Into the Water. A Family Rescued Him and Helped Him Grow

A tiny Tasmanian devil was in trouble after falling into the water. He struggled near the edge, unable to climb out on his own. A family noticed the animal and stopped to help.
They reached down with a long-handled rescue tool, worked to get hold of him, and lifted him out of the water.

The rescue was only the beginning. Once safely on land, the tiny devil was brought away from the water and given a chance to recover.

The family decided to care for him temporarily rather than leave a vulnerable baby to fend for himself.
At first, he was small enough to fit comfortably in a soft towel. He was kept warm and gently handled as he adjusted to his new surroundings. The family watched over him, offering food and care while he grew.

In the footage, he is seen being held carefully, eating from a person’s hand, and resting in a blanket. A child also spends time beside him, showing how much affection the little rescue animal received.

As he became bigger and stronger, his personality started to show. The once tiny, soaked baby grew into an energetic young Tasmanian devil.
He began exploring the room, climbing around furniture, investigating his surroundings, and moving with growing confidence. Outside, he could run through the grass and interact with the natural environment.
His transformation is striking. The helpless little animal pulled from the water had grown into a healthy-looking young devil, ready for the next stage of his life.

But caring for a wild animal is not the same as keeping a pet. The goal was to give him support until he could return to where he belonged. Eventually, the family carried him back into the bush and released him into the wild.

It must have been difficult to say goodbye after watching him grow from such a vulnerable baby.

Still, the most meaningful ending was not keeping him close. It was giving him the chance to live freely as a wild Tasmanian devil.
