Heroic woman uses her bare Hands to save Shark helplessly tangled in ROPE
Paddleboarding should be a relaxing hobby. Floating on the water, listening to the gentle lapping of waves.
The call of birds in the air as they fly overhead, searching for food. But when you spot a shark tangled in a fishing line, it can ruin the ambiance. That’s exactly what happened to Charity Clark. She knew she needed to rescue the shark.
Charity’s friend, Cassie Bailey, recorded the shark rescue. The rope was around the shark in several loops and caught on its teeth.
It would be tricky, but Charity knew she couldn’t leave the animal struggling. Reaching into the water with her bare hands, Charity got a look at the entangled rope.
Undeterred, she went to work trying to rescue the shark. It appeared to be a small Mako or reef shark, about four feet long.
Charity thinks the shark was stunned slightly at first, allowing her to untangle it relatively easily. We can hear Cassie asking on the video if the shark was still alive
When it snapped at Charity, they both knew it was alive and would probably be okay.
After the final loop was free, the shark swam away without even thanking Charity for the kind rescue.
During an interview with Good, “We were all smiles watching it swim away,” Charity said. “It was such a relief.”
It took a lot of courage to reach into the water with no protective gear, but Charity knew she had to help. She tucked her fear down and reached in.
Now that it is over, she and Cassie can breathe a sigh of relief and know that they were a part of something good.
