Most people are guided by the belief that pit bulls are fierce dogs. This is merely a stereotype as made abundantly clear through the story that we bring to you today.
The two pit bulls, Nick and Boston were able to garner much attention online since they were able to befriend a wild hummingbird. They went viral instantly for the bond they formed with the tiny bird as it was heartwarming.
Nick and Boston live on a ranch located in Brazil. One day the two dogs were resting outside when a hummingbird approached them.
According to their owner Melrosi’s sister, Edilene, “I’ve never seen anything like it. They made friends with the hummingbird.” Even though the hummingbird interacted with Nick and Boston for a few minutes and flew away, the bird returned.
The hummingbird began to visit the two pit bulls regularly. “The hummingbird doesn’t come close to us, but she’s friends with the dogs. It’s the most beautiful thing,” Edilene conveyed. The video footage of their interactions which was shared online depicts the two dogs playing with their tiny newfound friend gently.
From the looks of it, the hummingbird prefers to be in the presence of Nick and Boston. She has even begun to build a nest which is located close by to their house. We assume it is so she can visit her doggo friends whenever she wants to.
Most importantly this friendship that has blossomed between the pit bulls and the hummingbirds stands as proof of their gentle and caring nature. It demonstrates that these dogs should not be seen in a negative light.
Aleksandra Silva is an expert who is well-versed in the behavior of pit bulls for she too owns one. “Pita Maria is the most chill and gentle dog that you can imagine, with people and with other dogs. We take her everywhere we go and have never had a stressful situation,” she expressed her experience with her pit bull.
“We are always together, she is my ‘blanket’ when I’m cold, she knows perfectly when I’m sad or sick, we both love car rides and discovering new places. She is part of our family and we can’t imagine our life without her,” she further conveyed. Therefore, it is apparent that the stereotype that pit bulls are fierce is deceiving. If this story makes anything clear it is that they too are capable of loving and caring.
