West London Squirrel Seeks Help by Knocking on Window while being Stalked by Fox

Mark Gardner, of North Kensington, West London, caught the unusual pose on camera in his garden and it went viral when he shared it online.

The 48-year-old captioned the image ‘if you could let me in… that’d be great’ and it was shared 21,000 times as well as receiving 3,000 likes.

Mr Gardner said: ‘I’m forever taking photos out of my window of the animals and the fox has been coming in the garden for years.

‘The squirrel has been coming around a lot recently too and he knows he will get food that I leave out for them. I call him Corby.

‘But as the fox who we call Forest was skulking around on the lawn watching him intently it looked just like he was asking for help from us at the window.

‘It was someone else who gave it the caption “if you could let me in… that’d be great” but I absolutely loved that.

‘I was amazed by the response. Everyone found it so funny, especially the expression on his face and that both animals are looking at the camera.

‘The picture really makes me smile every time I look at it, but I was very lucky to capture them in that pose.

‘But I knew as soon as I got it that it was a really good one. Sometimes you just know. It’s just that something special.

Mr Gardner said: ‘Taking pictures of the animals in my garden is a real passion for me. It is all I talk about.

‘We live in a fast world where everything is so quick and intense and everyone needs something quick.

‘But animals do what they need to do to survive and they slow things down. I find wildlife amazing as they are just trying to survive in an urban jungle.’
