Lucky Stranded dolphin Rescued thanks to man in Namibia, darted back into ocean like bullet
Dolphin left stranded on a beach is saved by a kayaker who carries him back to the water – and he waves thanks with his tail.
Tour guide Naude Dreyer of Pelican Point Kayaking spotted the animal and leaped into action on Wednesday, gently scooping it up and sending it back out into the surf.
They wrote: “On our way back from tour this morning, we came across this juvenile male Benguela Dolphin, still alive on the beach.
“I was not very hopeful, but as soon as he got into water and realised where he was, he took off like a bullet.”
They added that they would drive past the area later just to make sure the young created hadn’t returned.
The rescue, while successful, goes against Whales and Dolphin Conservation advice on how to deal with an animal if found.
They suggest contacting them or other experts.
“Marine mammals are wild. They can carry diseases which are transferable to humans, and they can cause injury by thrashing their tails or otherwise. Do not put yourself at risk of injury.
